If you had participated in marking exams like WAEC, NECO, GCE etc you may be able to connect with activities like rigorous meetings (coordinations), very low pay and other conditions that makes marking of exams unattractive.

With IGCSE marking you can work from the comfort of your home, join meetings online and get paid in hard currencies (pounds regularly). For attending coordination meetings only you earn about £21.50 per hour. You may have up to 5 hours meetings per day. Coordination alone can earn you up to £258.

(Stop! Don’t go and check how much other exam bodies paid you previously for all coordinations done).

Apart from that you earn for stuffs like administration fee (£67.50) and then get paid amounts ranging from £1 to £10 per paper. You can be assigned up to 600 papers per round of exam. If you need to attend physical meeting IGCSE will bear the costs of travel, accommodation and feeding within a specified cost.

What is IGCSE

IGCSE means International General Certificate of Secondary Education. It is an English language based secondary qualification similar to the GCSE and is recognized in the United Kingdom as being equivalent to the GCSE for the purposes of recognizing prior attainment. It was developed by Cambridge Assessment International Education. 

As an examiner, you’ll mark completed exam papers against a mark scheme. You’ll work as part of a team with a supervisor who will guide you through the process and answer any queries.

Most of the exams are marked on-screen but in some cases you’ll work with candidates’ paper scripts. 

They’ll make sure you are fully trained so you understand the exam process and your part in it. There will also be standardisation activities to make sure you can apply the mark scheme consistently.
